La Maison Normande offers you a choice of four comfortable bedrooms in our recently renovated four storey home. A perfect base for couples, groups or individual visitors wishing to explore the Cantal on foot, by bike or by car.
The house sits on the outskirts of the village of Saint-Cirgues and offers views of the beautiful valley of the Jordanne and the timeless Monts du Cantal. The mountains of the Cantal, the remnants of Europe’s largest stratovolcano, rise up to 1855 metres and spread out over an area more than 70 kilometres in diameter. Valleys, high ridges and hills fan out, like the spokes of a wheel, from the pyramid giant Puy Mary.
The land has been forged in fire and shaped by erosion over millions of years but now lies silent, waiting to be explored.

You feel you are staying with friends. They have restored and decorated la Maison Normande to the highest standards. Our room was very comfortable with every need taken care of.
The breakfasts are copious and delicious and will set you up for a day’s walking in the wonderful scenery of the Jordanne Valley. Sarah’s evening meals are to die for. Tim is a fount of knowledge about the local area and generous with advice and information about local walks. We are already planning next year’s visit”
