Terms and conditions of sale
Article 1 - Contract
These general terms and conditions apply to all bookings made through our online booking platform, by email, or by phone. They constitute the reservation contract between La Maison Normande and the client for their stay in the guesthouse.
Article 2 - Duration of stay
The reservation contract with La Maison Normande is defined for a fixed period (date of arrival - date of departure). Under no circumstances can the client claim the right to stay beyond the agreed period.
Article 3 - Pricing
The displayed rates are net prices per night, including breakfast and excluding tourist tax. Rates are differentiated according to the season and room size. Any change or implementation of new legal or regulatory taxes imposed by the competent authorities will automatically be reflected in the prices indicated at the time of invoicing.
The following additional services are not included in the room rate:

Tourist tax is €0.88 per person per night and is added to the room rate. The tourist tax applies to all guests over 18 years of age.
Article 4 - Booking
By making a booking, the client acknowledges the nature, purpose, and booking conditions of the services available on the website, as well as any necessary and/or additional information to make the reservation with full knowledge. The choice of services and their suitability to the client's needs is the sole responsibility of the client, which means that La Maison Normande cannot be held liable in this respect.
The reservation is validated by the payment of the deposit for the stay is paid. The deposit is fixed at 40% of the total amount of the stay. The deposit must be paid within 7 days following the booking. If the deposit is not received within 7 days, the room will be made available for rebooking, and the request will be cancelled. Payment of the deposit constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale.
Full payment for the stay is required for any booking made less than 7 days prior to the arrival date.
Article 5 - Booking confirmation
Our reservation platform confirms receipt of the reservation by sending an email. This email summarises the contractual offer (the dates booked, the services reserved, the prices, the terms and conditions accepted by the client related in relation to the chosen rate, as well as the address of the establishment to which the client can address any complaints).
Article 6 - Cancellation or modification
Any change of reservation, dates, or rooms are only possible with the written consent of La Maison Normande. Please note that changes may incur additional charges and will subject to room availability for the new dates requested.
The client is informed that, in case of cancellation before the start of the stay, a penalty will be applied as follows:
If the cancellation is made more than 30 days before the arrival date, 100% of the deposit will be refunded.
If the cancellation is made less than 30 days before the arrival date, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
If the cancellation is made less than 15 days before the arrival date, La Maison Normande will retain the full deposit.
If the cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the arrival date, La Maison Normande reserves the right to charge the full amount of the stay.
All reservations are nominative and cannot be transferred to a third party, whether free of charge or not.
For long stays of five nights or more, the client must pay the full amount of the stay 7 days before arrival.
In case of an early departure, the full amount of the reservation remains due. No discout or refund will be given.
In case of force majeure, we may be obliged to cancel a stay. All means will be used to inform the client (phone, SMS, email, letter). Any sums received will be refunded as soon as possible.
Article 7 - No-show
In case of no-show, the full amount of the reservation is due.
Article 8 - Cancellation insurance
Our prices do not include cancellation insurance. We strongly recommend that you take out such insurance.
Article 9 - Accommodation capacity
The number of people must not exceed the maximum occupancy capacity of the room reserved. We regret that we cannot accept bookings for young children (under 10 years old). In the event of non-compliance, the client may be denied access to their room without prior written consent. No refund will be given in such cases.
External visitors (parents, children, friends of the resident guests) are not allowed on the premises. In addition, the client also agrees not to organise any events on the premises.
Article 10 - Animals
Animals, with the exception of assistance dogs, are not allowed on the premises. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the client being refused access to their room without prior written consent. No refund will be given in such cases.
Article 11 - Timetables
Check-in is between 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm (room availability and key handover). In case of a late arrival, the client must inform La Maison Normande by phone, SMS, or email. Check-out is by 10:30 am at the latest. If the client wishes to have access to the room before 4:30 pm or leave after 10:30 am on the day of departure, an additional charge may apply. Breakfast is served between 8:00 am and 9:30 am in the dining room.
The table d’hôtes is served at 12:30 pm for lunch and 7:30 pm for dinner.
Article 12 - Luggage storage
If you arrive early, you can leave your luggage with us while you wait for your room to be ready. We can also store your luggage on the day of departure so that you can continue to enjoy the area.
Article 13 - Parking
Due to the narrow width of the property gate (2.2 metres), guests are strongly advised to park in the free village car park on the Rue de la Cure in front of the house. Should the guest nevertheless wish to park on the property, he/she will be solely responsible for any damage caused to his/her vehicle during his/her stay. The guest is also requested not to block the exit of other vehicles.
Article 14 - Room modification
It is possible that, for service or safety reasons, we may have to change the room originally reserved. In this case, if the service provided is of a lower standard than originally booked, La Maison Normande agrees to refund the difference in price. If the service provided is of a higher standard, no additional charge will be applied. The guest will not be entitled to any further compensation.
However, if the guest wishes to change rooms during their stay, subject to the availability of other rooms, additional charges may apply.
Article 15 - Payment
The balance, the tourist tax, and any services consumed during the stay must be paid on the day of departure. An invoice detailing the stay (the accommodation price, any additional services, and tourist tax rate) can be provided on request,.
La Maison Normande accepts payment by credit card, bank transfer and cash.
Article 16 - Gift voucher
Gift vouchers are nominative. Prices vary depending on the season and the services included. They must be paid in advance and are neither exchangeable nor refundable.
Article 17 - Consumption of services
We value guests who behave responsibly towards themselves, other guests, and the property. We ask our guests to take care of their room and its facilities, as well as to respect the safety and hygiene rules.
La Maison Normande has an internal rules document, and the guest agrees to abide by these rules. In the event of any breach of the house rules, we will be obliged to ask the guest to leave the property without any refund.
Article 18 - Use of the premises
In order to ensure the tranquility of the premises and the comfort of other guests at La Maison Normande, a certain 'art of living' is required of all. We kindly ask you to respect the silence between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited both in the rooms and in the common areas (including the balconies). Ashtrays are available in the entrance hall.
Eating and drinking is not allowed in the rooms, but is available in the dining room. It is not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages from the outside, unless special permission has been obtained.
Rooms must be left in perfect condition at the end of the stay. Any damage must be reported immediately. Financial compensation may be required. The loss of room keys and/or house keys will be charged at €25 per key.
We decline all responsibility in case of loss, theft, and/or damage to property and/or injury to persons on the premises, regardless of the cause.
For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden:
To use open flames, such as matches, candles, tea lights, or sparklers in our premises.
To charge electric vehicles, as our electrical installation is not suitable.
Article 19 - Use of WiFi
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. The client agrees to use this internet access in a fair and reasonable manner. The internet access provided is for general use, such as web browsing, email, social media, and streaming light video, music, and media. It is not suitable for multimedia streaming, online gaming, or large downloads. Accessing illegal activities or using our network for illegal purposes is not permitted and will be reported to the local authorities.
Article 20 - Responsibility
The photographs and illustrations shown on our website are not contractual. Although every effort is made to ensure that the photographs, graphics, and text reproduced to illustrate the property provide as accurate a preview as possible of the services offered, variations may occur between the time of booking and the day the service is provided. La Maison Normande cannot be held responsible for these variations.
Article 21 - Claims
Claims relating to the non-performance or improper performance of the reserved services must be made to us in writing to us within eight days of your departure from the property.
Article 22 - Resolution of disputes
These terms and conditions of sale are governed by French law. The Court of Aurillac has exclusive jurisdiction. However, you are reminded that the decree of 11 December 2019 requires prior recourse to an alternative dispute resolution method. Priority should therefore be given to trying to resolve the dispute amicably.
